"Sadly, much of what we feared has since borne out: relapses in eating disorders, spikes in loneliness, and yes, intensification of gender distress."
Should we add political radicalization? For example, I don't hear anyone talking about how the pandemic might have influenced Tyler Robinson's mental decline from an A student who won a scholarship at Utah State University to becoming the alleged killer of Charlie Kirk. By my calculations, piecing it together from news sources, he spent the last quarter of his junior year of high school and all of his senior year on Zoom, and attended classes on Zoom for one semester at Utah State University before he quit and switched to a technical school. (USU courses were entirely remote during those months.) I wonder about all the unseen ways the lockdowns could be rippling through society, even now.
