I loved the comment that Parental perspective/love is a threat to the fantasy of trans. Since I am the only non-affirming person, it is easy to blame my "bigotry", but I that is not it.

I'm a little concerned about Lynn Chadwick's pride in her history of protesting and censoring drag story hour and how there was no questioning of this from Stella and Sasha. Drag performers are not the same as trans people, and the opposition to public acceptance of drag performance is fueled by more generalized homophobia and enforced gender conformity. One might even argue that drag performance could provide a healthier outlet of expression for some gender non-conforming men than transitioning.

There's also the unquestioning acceptance of the idea that it's justifiable to bully that which you disagree with out of existence. Some drag performance is not appropriate for children, but that doesn't mean drag performance is inappropriate in and of itself, and an inchoate antipathy toward something doesn't give you permission to prevent others from enjoying it.

Now that Lynn Chadwick is an out and proud lesbian who seeks to protect gender non-conforming boys and men from being pushed into medicalized transition, I wonder if she might want to be more open about having evolved ideologically as well as psychologically, and perhaps be a little self-critical about her earlier beliefs.

Sounds plausible until you read about the pedophiles involved in story hour. Yes, there have been more than one.

By that logic, all churches should shut down immediately.
