I have a comment that is slightly off topic: a lot of schools stop children from going to the toilet during lessons, making them wait until the class is finished, unless they have a so called toilet permit, which would only be available to those who can advocate for themselves or who have an advocate. I worry that this could cause damage to children’s bodies, and teach them that hanging on is a healthy thing to do.
This was really informative. Your podcasts just seem to improve over time. The story reminded me of Dr. Az Hakeem introducing young trans-identified people who had not transitioned to older trans patients, which led to high levels of desistance/detransition. I have not been able to find much about the long-term effects of estrogen and progesterone on trans-identified males. Alisdair Gunn wrote about it in his 7-piece series in Quilette from the perspective of Rene Jax who I know is controversial.
