📣The Metaphor of Gender is finally here!
Sasha has spent 9 years in the therapy room with gender-questioning youth.
She believes that these intelligent, sensitive teens are trying to sort things out, but have gotten swept into a culture of black-and-white thinking and self-diagnosis.
Now, she’s creating a resource for them:
Her new YouTube channel—The Metaphor of Gender—has launched this week.
This channel is not about activism for either “side." And it’s not concerned with debates or hot takes.
It understands gender as a metaphor for expressing visceral and challenging feelings.
And metaphors aren’t meant to be taken literally.
In the first video, released yesterday, Sasha explains why she believes gender is a metaphor, and not really about clothing, hairstyles, language games, or brain scans.
In the second video, which comes out today, she outlines who will (and who won’t) enjoy the new channel.
And the third video, coming out Thursday the 19th, lays out the founding principles of The Metaphor of Gender, including things like psychological flexibility, intellectual humility, and appreciating that reality deals in trade-offs, not perfect solutions.
Please help Sasha bring this new channel into the world:

Thank you, Sasha! I loved this powerful and provocative opening episode. I really like the idea of shifting the discourse around gender by framing it as a metaphor.
