Next Live + Unfiltered: Autism, Identity, and the Search for Answers
Analyzing Episode 17 - Autism and Gender Dysphoria
We’re getting ready for our May Live + Unfiltered event, and we’re revisiting a crucial topic for anyone interested in gender dysphoria: autism and identity development.
This month, we’ll be analyzing one of our early episodes of GWL. In EP 17 - Autism and Gender Dysphoria, we discuss autism, rigid thinking, social difficulties, and of course, the statistically shocking overlap with gender identity issues (around 40% of trans-identified youth also have an autism diagnosis or notable autism traits).
Given the cultural noise around this issue lately — including public figures like RFK Jr. making highly controversial statements about the origins and nature of autism — it’s more important than ever to step back, take a wider lens, and really think about what’s happening to this generation.
(If you’re not yet a paid subscriber, you’ll need to upgrade to join the live chat and participate in this discussion.)
Some topics we’ll explore live:
The intersection of autism traits and gender identity
Why autistic youth may be more vulnerable to gender ideology
How misunderstandings about autism mask deeper developmental needs
Practical strategies for parents, clinicians, and advocates navigating this space
If you want to talk with us about how autism, attachment, and identity collide —
this is a conversation you can’t miss.
