Az Hakeem is a UK psychiatrist who has been working with gender dysphoria for over a decade. We’ve interviewed him twice on GWL: one time for our Pioneers Series in 2022 and again at the end of 2024 to hear his take on different types of transsexual and transgender classifications.
In both conversations, we were left with far more questions, ideas, and reflections than we could possibly fit into the episode, so we’re thrilled to bring these two discussions back for a thorough analysis. Noteworthy points included a mixed group that he used to run with people pre- and post-transition, which created much dissonance and questions for his members considering medicalization. And in the second interview, we drilled down into a very detailed typology of gender-related issues in males, some of which left us scratching our heads.

I had to miss this one but I so want to know what Az Hakeem said. I have a 22 year old son so his information is incredibly relevant to me and I need to know if there is anything he said on how to help boys like my son. I know this one isn't recorded, but if anyone can share any insight I would appreciate it! I want to be prepared if my son shows a crack.
