I very much appreciate this interview. The only concern is the thinking that those over 18 can and should do whatever they want. All people deserve protections from harmful ideologies and medicalization practices. An "adult" in their 20s can have all the underlying comorbidities and issues as teens/kids. These "adults" can be harmed and are being harmed. Nothing magic happens when someone turns 19. Please be very cautious about saying that adults are exempt from protections or consideration. Many parents such as myself have lost kids to the ideology and medicalization after the age of 18. In the future, please consider including parents of "adults" and for advocating for the protection of all ages. Thank you.

Re Body modifications that affect health and *function*, I can’t see how they are ethical in any circumstances bar the most extreme. But certainly young adults even in their 20s like my child are still very vulnerable to rumination, seeing transition as a solution, having an identity that acts as a shield to avoid confronting insecurities or trauma or problems fitting in etc.
